Rodent Control

Published January 28th, 2025 by Cool Lea Camp LLC

I know pretty much every RVer has their own method of stopping chipmunks, mice and even squirrels from invading their campers and here’s mine.

I find every incoming water line, electrical line, (don’t forget your furnace compart like I did.), and place steel wool (the finer the better) in the hole followed by a covering of Rodent Retardant spray. It may take a little time to do, but it’s the best way I have found to keep these little buggers out.

If you have wall vents in your camper like I do, you can just use steel wool which will allow for airflow.

You also may want to make sure that the factory foam filling the holes in your underbelly has no gaps also.

To take it a step further, put a little Vaseline, grease or any sticky substance on our city water hose and your electrical cable. Don’t coat the whole things just a little at the spot where the hose or line comes up off the ground. This should reduce the number of spiders and ants you get inside.

As always, your questions and comments are welcome.
